Phonepesa (phonepesa.co.ke) uses a small number of cookies, kept deliberately minimal. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell cookie data to third parties.

These cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be switched off:

• Authentication session: keeps you logged in to your Phonepesa account (set by Supabase, our authentication provider).
• Security tokens: protect your account and our forms from cross-site request forgery.
• Load balancing: ensures the site routes your requests reliably.

We may use a small cookie or local storage entry to remember display preferences, such as whether you have dismissed a notice, so we don’t show it to you again on every visit.

We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand overall traffic patterns (such as which pages are visited and how often), so we can improve the platform. Where analytics cookies are used, they do not identify you personally.

Some features rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies:

• Supabase: our authentication and database provider, used to keep you securely logged in.
• Google Sign-In: if you choose to register or log in with Google, Google may set cookies as part of that sign-in flow.

These providers have their own cookie and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings, including blocking or deleting them. Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in or using core features of Phonepesa, such as applying for gigs or withdrawing earnings.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal reasons. We will post any changes on this page with a new “last updated” date.
